Save Money From Household Cleaning Products

FrugalfulOctober 29, 2013

Regular cleaning is one of the most important things for maintaining your home safe and cosy. Very often, our favorite places like the kitchen, the sofa, the bedroom or the bathroom, can become great sources of germs and bacteria. In order to avoid this, it is very important to know how to maintain your home clean and organized.

But did you know that every moth we spend at about 15% of our salary on cleaning detergents and chemicals. Dish soap; laundry detergent; toilet detergent – there is no doubt that all these things are inseparable part of our daily household chores. But do we really need to waste such a significant amount of money on them? In this article we will give you some very useful tips and advice on how to save some money from cleaning products. Here is what we mean.
How to save money from…
Disinfectants…
There are plenty of chemical disinfectants on the market. They are not only expensive, but also contain a great number of dangerous ingredients. Many of these ingredients release harmful gases, which can put your health in risk. That is why we have decided to offer you a great alternative. Natural disinfectants are one of the easiest ways to protect yourself from the bad effect of  chemical detergents and save some money from regular cleaning.
Here is our first suggestion. Instead of cleaning the bathroom with commercial cleaning detergents, you can try using some of the things that we will offer you.32
For the toilet…

Cleaning the toilet is one of the most unpleasant things. However, it is really inevitable, because this is the greatest source of bad odors and bacteria in your home. Prepare a home-made cleaning detergent from bleach. This is a great cleaner, pretty affordable and is considered to be one of the most effective bacteria killers. Be aware, that while using it, you will have to be absolutely sure that you have opened the windows. Bleach has a very specific, strong smell, which may lead to dizziness and nausea.
For the tiles in the bathroom and the kitchen…
These two rooms are often considered to be the hardest places to clean. Also, this is where we spend a lot of time during the day and it is very important to keep them clean.
Make a cleaning detergent from 1 part white vinegar and 1 part baking soda. Both of them are considered to be really effective and will do a great job with removing dark stains and mold from your tiles. Also, you will not have to buy any other cleaning products, since the result will be absolutely the same. Only with the slight difference that you won’t have to breath all the dangerous gases.

What about air freshening?…
Instead of wasting your money buying air fresheners, here is a fantastic natural alternative. Coffee grounds! We all love the smell of coffee. Coffee grounds are an amazing way to get rid of the bed smells in your kitchen. Just take a bowl and fill it with some coffee grounds. They will easily absorb the stubborn smells. Another great idea is to take a nice palm tree. As many other indoor plants, palm trees are considered to be very effective natural fresheners. Also, this is a great way to improve the indoor air quality.
