Organic Makeup: Is it Better for the Skin?

GUEST POST |  In the last couple of years, the choice of skin care and makeup products has become one of the hottest topics in the beauty industry. I’ve always been a makeup enthusiast, purchasing and trying out a wide range of products in the search for the ones that would suit me most. However, a couple of years ago, I experienced a bad skin inflammation caused by a super-expensive foundation that I do not want to mention. So, after that experience, I started looking for alternative solutions to my problem and that’s how I came across organic makeup.

For centuries, most women have been looking for cosmetic products that would slow down or even pause the process of aging, that would help them maintain their fresh and youthful look as long as possible. Influenced by numerous expensive cosmetic brands that appear in magazines, websites and TV commercials, we often forget that it is natural ingredients that actually work wonders. I’ve been using organic makeup for more than two years and here are some of my conclusions.

It has no toxic substancesOrganic Makeup

According to researchers, the majority of our skincare and makeup products contain highly harmful toxic substances, such as Paraben, phthalates, mercury, dioxane, nitrosamines, DEA, ammonium laureth sulfate, polyethylene glycol and many others, which, apart from allergies and inflammations, can also cause severe health problems, such as skin cancer, Diabetes II or Alzheimer’s disease. What I also found out is that most of these non-organic ingredients are of strong, unpleasant odor, which is later camouflaged with other, artificial substances. Seems like a never-ending process! What’s worse, our skin absorbs these toxic substances, making it impossible to get rid of them. Unlike regular cosmetics, organic makeup is free from such harsh chemicals and it uses only natural ingredients that nourish our skin in the best possible way.

It’s gentle on the skin

100 percent pure was my first choice when I first started using organic makeup. What I immediately noticed was its positive influence on my skin, which became softer, more radiant and nourished. What I also realized is that acne that I was fighting against all my life, completely disappeared. Now my face looks both smoother and healthier as I avoid applying heavy foundations.

It protects from premature aging

Apart from toxic substances in regular makeup products, it is the constant exposure to sun that can cause premature aging. As I have already mentioned, regular makeup doesn’t provide us with adequate protection against the sun. This can later result in the appearance of wrinkles and flakes. On the other hand, organic makeup contains various natural ingredients and minerals, such as vitamin C, titanium oxide, zinc oxide and iron oxide that have sun-shielding effects for having healthy, youthful-looking skin. All around the world, there are numerous natural ingredients that have anti-aging effects, and most of them even don’t cost a lot!

All in all, what I learned is that sometimes pricey and branded makeup products aren’t a key to flawless, youthful skin. On the contrary, it is organic makeup that made my skin fresh, healthy and acne-free. I consider it my fountain of youth (and happiness, as well), and that’s why I would never go back to regular makeup products. Try out and you won’t regret it!Organic Makeup
